Being alone soothes the mind and rejuvenates the soul
I never quite understood the concept of alone time till I started living alone. With the fear of being lonely, I used to avoid spending too much time on my own. But as I grow older, I find myself enjoying my ‘me’ time. From reading a book, to listening to music or just having quiet time to myself, this time has become a sacred ritual.
There are many reasons why I value my alone time; it increases my productivity, it helps me block out distractions and interruptions, which enables me to concentrate better and helps me get work done on time. It helps me be more creative (my best ideas come when I give myself space and time to think things through). And most importantly being alone has helped me become more comfortable in my own skin, and enjoy my own company.
I would encourage you to take some time off for yourself, be it 5 minutes or 10 minutes. Alone time can be beneficial to your well-being, it could be a key to becoming the best version of yourself.
